Theme Park Design Competiton, the process
Teams are being required to take their vision from ‘blue-sky’ concept to budgeted and rendered pitch. This process will also showcase the broad variety of skills needed to create a successful proposal given technical and financial constraints.
Teams should be made up of 2 to 4 students, currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate programme at an accredited college or university. Participants on a team may also be from different colleges or universities, and interdisciplinary teams are recommended.
Cash prizes totalling $6000 will be awarded to the winning team and runners-up. This will happen after results are announced in mid-May.
Last year’s Theme Park Design Competition attracted 33 teams from 22 universities and 26 disciplines. It won by a team from the University of Texas at Austin. Their winning design (above) was for an attraction called Wraith of the Creek.
Registration for the comptetion closes tonight (3/18) at mdnight.
