The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), a non-profit representing compelling places and experiences worldwide, has announced the details for the 2023 Storytelling, Architecture, Technology, and Experience (SATE) conference in North America.
This year, the event will take place on 12 – 14 October in Kansas City, Missouri. The agenda will explore the theme “Origins and Influencers: The people, places and ideas that shape our industry”.
Kansas City has an inspiring origin story and a vibrant culture, embedded in entertainment and the arts. This city offers an inspiring background for the conference, which encourages delegates to look to the future while learning from the past.
Looking to the future, learning from the past
This year’s SATE North America conference, held in the “Heart of America,” will examine what the past has taught us, learn from the people who influence us, take a bet on future breakthroughs, and build the next generation of experiences.
TEA describes the ethos of the conference using a quote from Walt Disney: “Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious … and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
To mark the 100th anniversary of Walt Disney’s relocation to Los Angeles, this event celebrates the amazing origin tales and the influential people in the sector. It will provide an opportunity to talk about how the past shapes the present and how art and storytelling are the DNA of innovation.
Further event details will be published on the TEA website as they are released.
