Nintendo experience is split into Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country

Universal Orlando has unveiled another land at Epic Universe, and this time it’s Super Nintendo World, opening with the new park in 2025.

Super Nintendo World, one of five lands at the Epic Universe theme park, is an innovative and immersive experience inspired by the Super Mario and Donkey Kong games.

Guests at Epic Universe will enter the land via the iconic green pipe, finding themselves in a vibrant and energetic space surrounded by Mt. Beanpole, Peach’s Castle, Piranha Plants and Goombas.

Super Mario Land

Super Mario Land includes Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, a groundbreaking attraction located in Bowser’s Castle that merges augmented reality (AR), projection mapping technology, and elaborate environments.

This is joined in the new Nintendo-themed land by Yoshi’s Adventure, a family-friendly ride. As for F&B, the land includes Toadstool Cafe, Yoshi’s Snack Island and Turbo Boost Treats.

Guests can buy souvenirs, clothing and toys at 1-UP Factory and Mario Motors, and meet characters such as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad across the land.

Donkey Kong Country

Located at the edge of Super Mario Land is Donkey Kong Country, a tropical-themed area with tall trees, waterfalls and landmarks like the Golden Temple.

Donkey Kong Country includes Mine-Cart Madness, a unique family-friendly coaster using an unprecedented ride system and innovative technology.

As with all of Universal’s Super Nintendo World sites, the Power-Up Band wearable device will be available to enhance the visitor experience.

With a Power-Up Band, visitors can punch Question Blocks to collect digital coins, earn digital keys to unlock content, and compete with other guests.

Super Nintendo World opened at Universal Studios Japan in 2021 and at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2023.

So far, Universal Orlando has unveiled Epic Universe’s Celestial Park and the How to Train Your Dragon-themed land.

Last month, the resort shared new details about two hotels opening next to Epic Universe.
