Zamperla, a leading ride manufacturer, will be bringing its latest portfolio of roller coasters to IAAPA Expo Europe in Barcelona next week, following a successful visit to the Saudi Entertainment and Amusement Show earlier this month.
During a previous Zamperla virtual celebration, Z-Fun Week, the company announced the launch of the Double Heart and the Family Coaster Lift and now it will be revealing three new concepts at IAAPA Expo Europe.
Investing in new tech
“We have spent the past five years investing in both talent and technology,” says Alberto Ferri, Roller Coaster Division Director. “Our capabilities continue to improve and we have demonstrated our ability to engineer and fabricate product that is some of the best in the industry. Ensuring that our engineering to fabrication pipeline works seamlessly has been at the heart of our improvements.”
This division has recently contributed to some of the most complex projects ever completed by Zamperla. For example, the company has installed a Junior Coaster at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the Factory Coaster at Wuxi Sunac Land in China and Thunderbolt at Mundo Petapa in Guatemala, all of which demonstrate a levelling-up of its ride quality. In addition, the soon-to-be-opened Canal Peak at Yangzhou OCT Fancy City in China is one of Zamperla’s smoothest thrill coasters yet.
“I am excited to show the collection of new experiences our team has created over the past year. During the difficult time created by COVID our CEO Antonio Zamperla challenged our design team to come with fantastic, daring ride concepts so we would come out of the pandemic with groundbreaking coaster experiences,” says Adam Sandy, Roller Coaster Sales & Marketing Director.
“But even more important than our new concepts, a look ‘under the hood’ showcases what really separates our latest design work from the competition. Cost of ownership drives our engineering philosophy. Features like an aluminium-milled chassis mean that our clients will receive the latest coaster innovation that drives down NDT and maintenance costs in every style of roller coaster we offer- from the Lightning thrill platform down to the Family Coaster.”
Coaster division continues to grow
Zamperla has continued to grow and to invest in its roller coaster business unit, aiming to create products and experiences as familiar as its family and thrill rides.
“It is an exciting time for Zamperla,” says Valerio Ferrari, Chief Sales Officer. “I’m thrilled that we are offering roller coasters that target three key height requirements: 90 cm (36 in), 105 cm (42 in) and 120 cm (48 in). We believe that combining specific ridership demographics with innovative, marketable concepts means that customers will see us as a go-to company for roller coasters.”
Despite a challenging period for the attractions industry, Zamperla opened several coasters in 2020/21, including those mentioned above, as well as Dragon’s Apprentice at Legoland New York; Storm at Magic Kass in Israel; Taxi #1 at Bollywood Parks Dubai and Tidal Twister at Columbus Zoo in the USA.
The team will be at booth #1-918 at IAAPA Expo Europe.
Earlier this year, Zamperla announced that Antonio Zamperla JR, the grandson of the founder, Antonio Zamperla, and son of the company’s President, Alberto Zamperla, has been appointed to the role of CEO.
