Sesame Place is an amusement park located just outside Langhorne, Pennsylvania which is just north-east of Philadelphia and just west of Trenton, New Jersey.

The amusement park is one of 10 parks which are run by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Company, which is a division of the Blackstone Group. It opened in 1980.

As would befit its name, the amusement park’s ‘theme’ is that of the popular Sesame Street television series and there are plenty of rides, water attractions and shows all based around characters like Ernie, Bert, Elmo, Big Bird and many others for youngsters to enjoy.

The amusement park is quite small – set in 14 acres – but there is plenty to see and do at the amusement park.

The amusement park has 17 ‘dry’ rides which include Big Bird’s Balloon Race, Cookie Mountain, Ernie’s Bed Bounce and Grover’s World Twirl and there are also 10 water attractions. These include Bert & Ernie’s Slip and Slide, The Count’s Splash Castle, Ernie’s Waterworks and Slimey’s Chutes.

There are also 4 shows at the amusement park to enjoy. At Elmo’s World Live Show, you can join Elmo. Mr. Noodle and Dorothy as they take you on an underwater fish exploration. Music lovers will enjoy Elmo Rocks in this extremely funny rock ‘n’ roll musical extravaganza which features Cookie Monster, Bert & Ernie as well as Elmo and Zoe, of course. The highlight of the shows at the amusement park, however, has to be the Rock Around the block Parade in which all of your favourite Sesame Street characters join together in this great singing and dancing spectacle.

There are four gift shops at the amusement park in which you can buy all manner of Sesame Street memorabilia and there are several eating outlets catering for all tastes and you’ll even have the opportunity at the amusement park to dine with your favourite Sesame Street character!
