NRH20 Family Waterpark is located in North Richmond Hills, Texas (hence the NRH in its name) which is about 9 miles to the northeast of Dallas.
2010 sees the water park celebrating its 16th birthday so it’s relatively new compared with many other water parks.
The water park caters for all of the family including the thrill seekers although some of the rides require you to be a certain height.
It has three amazing body slides. The Black Falls is an enclosed thrill ride that plummets you into virtual darkness whilst the Blue Twister, also fully enclosed, is a great ride at the water park which is full of twists and turns. Those of a calmer disposition will probably prefer the gentler Great White open flume ride.
The water park also has three exciting double rider tube slides. One of the most popular is the Double Dipper which is ideal for children who want to ride with their parents and there’s an enclosed tube ride called the Purplepalooza. However, for the real daredevils, the most challenging tube ride at the water park has to be the Green Extreme which is over 1, 100 feet long and seven storeys high – not for the faint hearted.
In addition to the body slides and tube rides, the water park has other rides and attractions to enjoy too. There’s the Accelerator which is a 4 lane mat ride over three storeys and younger visitors to the water park will love Frogstein’s Splashatory which features 6 small water slides and other interactive water activities.
Unlike a lot of water parks, NRH20 allows you to freely bring in your own coolers of food and drink with the exception of alcohol and already prepared foods such as pizza and burgers and the like bought from outside concessions. However, if you prefer to travel light, the water park does have a good range of food outlets that cater for such items as well as having an ice cream shop and also a gift shop.
