Universal Kids Resort announces opening date

Universal Destinations & Experiences' first-ever regional theme park designed for kids will officially open on 1 July

Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas, the company's first destination created specifically for kids, will open to the public on 1 July 2026. Tickets, on-site hotel packages, and the park’s inaugural annual pass are now available for purchase.

Universal Kids Resort showcases Universal Destinations & Experiences' theme park expertise through a fresh, playful approach—welcoming a new generation to enjoy kid-friendly Universal thrills designed for them.


Across the 20-acre park, seven lands celebrate much-loved characters and stories.

These include DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom, Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar and the Isle of Curiosity featuring DreamWorks' Gabby's Dollhouse.

Seven themed lands

Jurassic World Adventure Camp features Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster, Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin, and the Pteranodrop ride, while in the SpongeBob SquarePants-themed land, attractions include Jellyfish Fields Jamboree, Barnacle Bus, Bobbing Barrels, and Mrs. Puff’s Boating School.

At Shrek's Swamp, guests will enjoy the Shrek & Fiona’s Happily Ogre After attraction, along with interactive play areas Shrek’s Swamp Rompin’ Stomp and Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash.

Bello Bay Club, home to the iconic Minions, will feature the Bello Bay Cruise and Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby attractions, as well as the Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club water play area.

At DreamWorks' TrollsFest, guests will enjoy the King Trollex Techno Dance Party interactive experience, a Trolls-themed stage show, the Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express bus ride, and the Hair in the Clouds attraction. TrollsFest will also include two interactive play areas: Poppy’s Playland and Trolls Critter Crawl.

Attractions on offer in Puss in Boots Del Mar will include Swings Over Del Mar and the Mama Luna’s Adopt a Kitty Day puppet show.

The Isle of Curiosity at Universal's new theme park will serve as the gateway to the other themed lands. Here, guests will find Gabby’s Dollhouse-themed Gabby’s Cat-Tastic Dance Party, Cakey's Cupcakes F&B outlet, Universal Kids Resort Café, and the flagship Universal Kids Resort Store.

Plus, the Universal Kids Resort Hotel, situated at the park's entrance, offers 300 rooms and family suites, dining options, an outdoor pool, and other family-friendly amenities.
