The 34th SEAZA Conference will bring together zoo and aquarium professionals from across Southeast Asia and the international conservation community in Cebu, Philippines, from 15–20 November 2026. Organised by the Southeast Asian Zoos and Aquariums Association (SEAZA) and hosted by the Philippine Zoos and Aquariums Association (PHILZOOS) in partnership with Cebu Safari and Adventure Park, the annual conference provides a platform for sharing expertise, strengthening professional networks and exploring the future of zoological institutions in the region.
Held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, the event is expected to attract animal care specialists, conservationists, veterinarians, educators, researchers, senior zoo leaders and industry partners for six days of presentations, discussion and networking. As biodiversity faces increasing pressure worldwide, the conference offers an opportunity for delegates to exchange practical experience and examine how zoos and aquariums can contribute to species conservation, public education and sustainable environmental stewardship.
Spotlight on innovation and conservation
The 2026 conference theme, "Safeguarding Wildlife Through Passion, Collaboration, and Innovation," reflects the growing emphasis on partnerships and knowledge sharing within the global zoo and aquarium community. Sessions will explore a broad range of topics relevant to modern zoological organisations, from conservation breeding and wildlife health to visitor engagement, education programmes and the application of new technologies to animal management.
Alongside the conference programme, delegates will have opportunities to hear about conservation projects taking place across Southeast Asia, discover emerging research and discuss how institutions can respond to changing environmental, social and operational challenges. The event aims to encourage practical conversations that delegates can take back to their own organisations.
Connecting the regional zoo and aquarium community
SEAZA's annual conference has become an important meeting point for professionals working across Southeast Asia's diverse network of zoos and aquariums. It offers a forum for organisations of all sizes to share successful initiatives, develop new partnerships and strengthen collaboration across national borders.
Networking remains a key part of the event, with social functions, informal gatherings and opportunities to meet suppliers and service providers supporting the zoological sector. These conversations often lead to long-term collaborations on conservation programmes, animal welfare initiatives, staff development and educational projects.
