360Golf

Smart, interactive mini-golf technology for attractions and entertainment venues

360Golf

Overview:

360Golf is a technology-led mini-golf system developed by immersive experience specialist Holovis, combining physical play with automated scoring, interactive challenges and operator analytics. Designed for entertainment venues, attractions and leisure destinations, the system turns traditional miniature golf into a competitive social gaming experience without requiring players to manually record their scores.

Each player receives an individual smart golf ball, while sensors positioned around the course recognise the player and automatically track their progress. Stroke counting is handled by 360Golf's HoloTrac technology, with scores calculated by the system and displayed digitally as guests move through the course.

Rather than focusing solely on the traditional lowest-score-wins format, 360Golf introduces additional gameplay elements including SuperShots, Triumphs, bonus opportunities and interactive challenges. These can be incorporated into the physical design of individual holes, encouraging players to take risks, compete for additional points and try different strategies.

The company's growing catalogue includes designs such as loops, wall rides, ramps, ricochet challenges and themed holes. Operators can combine existing designs to create a course or work with the team on something bespoke.

Customisation can extend beyond the physical layout to the theme, brand or intellectual property associated with a venue. Previous bespoke concepts displayed by 360Golf include One Piece, Wednesday, Floor Is Lava and destination-inspired designs based on locations including Hong Kong, Venice, Jamaica and Miami.

360Golf is being used across a range of location-based entertainment settings. In the UK, installations include Level X venues in Glasgow and Middlesbrough, while Butlin's Bognor Regis introduced three nine-hole TechPutt courses as part of its £15 million PLAYXPERIENCE indoor activity centre.

The Butlin's attraction includes Vegas, Music and Neon courses, with the Music course incorporating accessibility features including an adapted putter and specially designed course.

In Ireland, Super Social Leopardstown opened with a 12-hole sports-themed 360Golf course at the heart of its entertainment offering. The technology has also been installed aboard Norwegian Cruise Line ships, demonstrating how the format can be adapted for both land-based attractions and cruise entertainment.

360Golf and Holovis are also working with Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) on bespoke experiences at destinations in Saudi Arabia.

Data for operators

The technology extends beyond the guest-facing experience. Installations can be monitored through Holovis' DeepSmarts analytics platform, giving operators access to information including player volumes, game duration, high scores and individual course usage.

Operational data can also be monitored, including equipment health, ball condition, battery status and scheduled maintenance. This allows venues to understand how guests are using the attraction while identifying potential technical issues and maintenance requirements.

With both catalogue-based and custom course development available, 360Golf provides operators with a flexible way to introduce technology-enhanced competitive socialising into FECs, resorts, visitor attractions and other leisure environments.
