Global entertainment design specialist, FORREC Ltd., has added the award-winning Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc. to its landscape architecture portfolio.

“Landscape architecture is the backbone of many of our projects and was our roots 30 years ago, ” comments Gordon Dorrett (left), President and CEO of FORREC. “Most people don’t know that some of Toronto’s best known urban spaces, like Trinity Square at the Eaton Centre, the Ryerson Campus and Ashbridges Bay, were designed by FORREC’s original landscape architectural practice.”

Founded in 2004, Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc. further enhances FORREC’s planning and design capability. The Toronto-based practice brings a range of expertise in landscape architecture, urban ecology, sustainability, BIM (Building Information Modelling), green roofs and LEED®.  Past projects include West Toronto Railpath, Aitken Place Park, Victoria Park Subway Station and Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence at York University.

Scott Torrance, Principal of Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc. described the partnership as ‘truly a one plus one equals three’:

“We will be able to better serve our existing clients and continue to build our Toronto-based practice while contributing to FORREC’s international work with my commitment to design excellence, sustainability and connecting people to nature in the urban environment.”

FORREC, whose work includes major projects for some of the world’s most popular brands including Universal Studios, LEGOLAND, Six Flags, Wanda Group and BBC Worldwide, believes this new injection of expertise will take the creation of unique spaces to the next level.

“We believe our combined efforts will help lead the next wave of landscape architecture design and build on our roots of offering Toronto great public spaces to enjoy, ” adds Dorrett.
