Mad Systems to celebrate major company anniversary

News
Mad Systems Building

The milestone coincides with head office renovations and new appointments

Mad Systems Inc., the award-winning audiovisual and interactive system designer and integrator, will celebrate 25 years of creative technology and creating solutions next year.

The firm, founded in 1998 by Maris Ensing, was envisioned as a resource for the industry to facilitate the design and implementation of technological systems. Mad Systems has expanded into an international operation to provide its clients with a well-established presence in various markets throughout the themed entertainment and experience economy industry, including museums, visitor centres, travelling exhibitions, amusement parks, and halls of fame.

Global project portfolio

Since Mad’s first installation for a children’s museum and the American Wilderness Grill in 1998, the company has expanded into unique projects around the world, including the Albert Robles Center in Pico Rivera, California, US, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, and the Crayola IDEAworks: The Creativity Exhibition travelling gallery.

The Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, Missouri, Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Truman Presidential Library & Museum in Independence, Missouri, and the California Science Center in Los Angeles, have all recently received installations.

As a technology innovator, the company has also created a diverse range of client-facing products, such as the QuickSilver audio-visual system, as part of the AV++ line. This series includes the unique Recognition Based Media Delivery technology from the firm, LookingGlass Concierge, a recognition-based customer support system, and improved QuickSilver® features.

Looking forward

With the growing workload, Mad Systems has almost doubled its headcount in the last year, thanks to the firm’s growing workload. “I am so proud of our consistent growth over the past 25 years,” says Mad Systems president and CEO Tricia Rodriguez. “It has been amazing to work with such a talented team, to see them rise to the challenges and enjoy the successes of each of our client’s projects. We are looking forward to what and whom the next decade brings!”

The Southern California-based office has added a 1,000-square-foot mezzanine, alongside its technology lab, specialised engineering spaces, and workshop. This new area will be used to allow the programming and testing of individual exhibits for future audio-visual installations, as well as the ongoing development of QuickSilver.

Mad Systems says that whilst it looks ahead with new prospects on the horizon, it will continue to raise the industry bar to create unique experiences, ignite curiosity, and encourage enjoyment.

Ensing adds: “It is quite incredible to look back at the past 25 years and see how the company has developed from an AV and interactives integrator into a leading-edge, one-stop, advanced technology company that creates solutions for a new audience and a new era.”

Mad Systems also recently announced the appointment of Paul Kent as its new VP of global business development.
