Merlin Entertainments has announced a number of new senior Marketing roles in it’s “Midway” Operating Group.
This reflects the accelerated roll out of Merlin’s Midway openings –no less than 7 in 2011 including Madame Tussauds in Vienna and Blackpool; SEA LIFE aquariums in Dallas, Texas; and Jesolo in Italy; a LEGOLAND Discovery Centre also in Dallas; and in the Blackpool Tower – a new Dungeon and top of the Tower ‘Eye’ observation attraction with 4D cinema. 7 more new Midway projects in the USA, Japan, Australia and Europe, are also already underway for completion in 2012.
This has resulted in the creation of a new role – Marketing Director, Midway Openings – putting greater focus on new attractions during their crucial few months before and after their opening; before they become the day to day responsibility of the regional operating and brand teams. Scott Williamson, currently Global Head of Marketing SEA LIFE and Dungeons, has been appointed into this challenging new role with immediate effect, reporting to Russell Barnes, Divisional Director Midway De
velopments.
He will be supported by Amanda Starmer who will take on the broader role of Marketing Manager, New Openings.
Rebecca Hamilton and Sarah Taylor take on the new roles of Global Head of Marketing for Dungeons and SEA LIFE respectively, both reporting directly to Glenn Earlam, Merlin Entertainments Managing Director Midway Attractions.
In another move Jenny Blask joins Merlin’s Midway team from a sales and marketing role in their German resort theme park, Heide Park. Jenny will take on the role of Marketing Director Midway Germany from the end of January 2012, reporting to German Business Unit Head, Sabrina de Carvalho
