Projects with leading attractions
Boymans has supplied natural stone for attractions including GaiaZOO, Bobbejaanland and Safaripark Beekse Bergen.
At Bobbejaanland in Belgium, the company helped identify different natural materials to support the park's themed environments. This included lava stone for the Vuurzone surrounding the Fury attraction, where the colour and character of the material were selected to complement the area's fire-inspired story.
Its work with GaiaZOO in Kerkrade demonstrates another side of natural stone in attractions. The zoo explored natural stone as an alternative to sprayed concrete, using the material within its landscapes and animal environments. Stone can subsequently be moved and reused elsewhere as exhibits and habitats evolve.
A reusable material for evolving attractions
This ability to repurpose natural stone is particularly valuable for destinations that regularly redevelop areas of their site. A boulder or other piece of stone used in one landscape can potentially become part of another enclosure or themed environment in the future.
