The BBC Earth Experience has extended its run in London until August next year and opened at a second site in Melbourne, Australia.
Located at the Daikin Centre in Earl’s Court, the multi-sensory attraction takes visitors on an immersive journey across the planet’s seven continents.
Produced in partnership with BBC Studios, Moon Eye Productions and Live Nation, the 360-degree audiovisual experience includes footage from the Seven Worlds, One Planet TV documentary, as well as narration from Sir David Attenborough.
“This is as close as you can get to being in the field, surrounded by the greatest natural spectacles on our planet,” said wildlife presenter and naturalist Steve Backshall.

“One of the producers who was on the actual shoots recording this footage said it felt more like being there amongst it than when he was actually there.
“Watching the polar bear sequence, I actually started to feel cold because it was so immersive. I really felt like I was there.”
Since opening, the BBC Earth Experience has received acclaim from visitors and critics. “The overwhelming response from our visitors and the incredible impact this experience has had in fostering a deeper connection with our planet has motivated us to offer this unforgettable experience to even more people,” said Amy Farrant, CMO of Moon Eye Productions.
The BBC Earth Experience is designed sustainably. The building and its contents are made from materials that can be recycled, reused or repurposed. The attraction also uses the latest LED energy-efficient technology, as well as screens made out of cotton.
Immersive journey across the planet
The surrounding outdoor spaces are created to encourage biodiversity through plants and insect houses, as well as rainwater harvesting.
In Australia, the BBC Earth Experience is located at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
“The response to the BBC Earth Experience in the UK has been amazing – audiences have been loving seeing this incredible content being showcased and elevated in this way,” said Fiona Lang, general manager, BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand.
Tinker imagineers, a leading experience design and production agency, provided the experience and audiovisual design for the BBC Earth Experience.
