The Global Licensing Group, the organiser of Brand Licensing Europe, has made important schedule changes for this year’s event as a result of the announcement of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
With the nationally significant event taking place on Monday 19 September 2022 and creating a previously unforeseeable UK Bank Holiday, this year’s Brand Licensing Europe show will operate with amended hours.
The newly revised hours are Tuesday 20 September: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm and Wednesday 21 September: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. Thursday 22 September will remain unchanged from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
“We have done everything possible to reduce disruption to our visitors, exhibitors and contractors, whilst also taking into account that many people in the UK do not wish to work on Monday 19 September to pay their respects to Her Majesty and be with their families on such a momentous occasion,” says Anna Knight, SVP Licensing at Informa Markets.
“Monday is the busiest day for the set-up of the event, and we, therefore, need a few additional hours on Tuesday morning to enable exhibitors enough time to complete the setup of their stands and to welcome you to the event.”
Exhibitor and contractor hours will also be changed, with details being communicated directly, to ensure time for everyone who wishes to do so to pay their respects on Monday 19 September.
Rescheduled sessions
Some notable Brand Licensing Europe events have also been impacted with new times confirmed:
- Orientation Session: 12 – 12.20 pm (License Global Theatre)
- Show Tour: 12.20 – 12.40 pm (departing from License Global Theatre)
- Speed Networking for Licensing U delegates: 2.45-3.15 pm (Wellness Lounge)
- French Community Drinks: 5.30 – 6 pm (BLE Bar)
- BLE Opening Night Drinks: 6 – 8 pm (BLE Bar and Motul Cafe)
Event organisers also expect some changes to be made to catwalk shows, details of which will be communicated soon.
“We understand that the adjusted hours will require attendees and exhibitors to reschedule meetings on Tuesday morning and we apologise for the inconvenience this will cause,” continues Knight. “We very much appreciate everyone’s flexibility and understanding as we navigate these unprecedented times.
“We would like to stress the venue will remain open as usual on Tuesday morning for those with pre-booked travel – there are plenty of seating areas and cafes for those wishing to work or take meetings before the show opens at noon.”
