Sensape, a creator of unique immersive brand experiences, has partnered with FC Bayern Munich to offer an augmented reality experience at the football club’s new store in Munich, Germany, allowing fans to have a photo taken with their favourite players, any time.
The store opened to the public in December 2020 and thanks to Sensape’s technology, the AR installation combines players and fans in real-time on the screen, to take a realistic photo. This is the first permanent installation of this technology in Europe and was developed by the company in Leipzig, Germany.
Take a photo with players, any time
When a fan stands in front of the device, the system recognises this and begins the AR application. Fans can choose their favourite three players, who pose virtually wearing the current away strip, and then position themselves in the centre for a unique photo opportunity.
The intelligent rendering system also adjusts the exposure and proportions to the fan and the environment, resulting in the production of a photo-realistic image. Fans can then easily download it to their device using a QR code and share it on their social media or with friends. Soon, they will also be able to enjoy a similar experience in the Member Corner, where they will be able to sign their membership contract in the presence of club president Herbert Hainer and honorary president Uli Hoeneß, sealing it with a photo.
Sensape was founded in 2015 and counts well-known names such as Deutsche Bahn, Rittersport, Oreo, L’Oréal, Haufe Lexware, Commerzbank and Porsche as customers. Earlier this year, Lehnert spoke to blooloop about the company’s journey so far, and its work in developing and distributing products for interactive and intelligent customer communication.
