Timbalaya signs licensing deal with non-profit Serenata Wellness

The Return of the Dragon-fly Whisperers, a brand-new pop-up event, will be available in the US

Children’s pop-up events featuring nature are being added to the adult well-being courses offered by US non-profit Serenata Wellness. The organization turned to UK-based Timbalaya to create an experiential event in response to an unprecedented need to support children and young people dealing with mental health difficulties.

Timbalaya is a children’s entertainment IP inspired by the stories of writer Georgina Parfitt. Motivated by the desire to see every child succeed in a challenging world, the company provides a range of low-cost, high-social-impact activities and events. Immersive storytelling and stretching a child’s imagination are at the core of all its physical experiences.

Like-minded organisations can currently take advantage of A Wishkeeper’s Adventure and Whispering Frost among other events and activities. Thanks to a partnership with Serenata Wellness, these events will now expand to the USA with The Return of the Dragon-fly Whisperers, a brand-new, inexpensive pop-up event. Families participate in a story-led walk through the woods, which includes simple game-based activities and dramatic storytelling.

Children’s wellbeing

Parfitt created this brand-new children’s story based on the philosophy of allowing kids the freedom to make their own decisions and at their own pace. With a sense of purpose and the conviction that they can bring about change and save the day, children are positioned at the core of this imaginative tale. An immersive children’s audiobook is also being developed and will be available in early summer.

Serenata Wellness is aware that children develop their social skills, their capacity for critical thought, and their ability to manage their emotions via imaginative play. Dr Pam Kaufman, co-founder of Serenata Wellness, says, “Children both heal and maintain wellness through creative play, and we wanted to embrace that idea and make something really special with Timbalaya.”

Timbalaya co-founder Nick Farmer adds: “It’s amazing what can happen with the right partnership. Serenata Wellness have brought us much welcomed knowledge around children’s wellbeing while our magical world provides a depth of story to capture the imagination of young children.”
