AI-powered portrait souvenir kiosks for museums, attractions and immersive experiences.

Citysaurus is an Amsterdam-based provider of AI-powered photo systems for museums, visitor attractions and immersive venues. Its AI Portrait Souvenir Kiosk turns a visitor photograph into a personalised image inspired by the venue, its content or intellectual property, creating a new take on attraction photography and take-home merchandise.
Designed to sit towards the end of the visitor journey, the kiosk allows guests to take their own photograph and see it transformed into a selection of custom-styled portraits within seconds. Visitors can then purchase their chosen image as a high-quality print, accompanied by a digital download and decorative cardboard frame.
The concept gives operators an additional retail opportunity while creating a souvenir that is closely connected to the experience the visitor has just enjoyed. Rather than applying the same visual treatment at every location, Citysaurus develops the portrait styles around each individual venue, brand, artistic theme or IP.
Citysaurus' involvement in Rembrandt's Amsterdam Experience gives the team experience on both sides of attraction development: creating an experience and operating it for a paying public.
The approximately 25-minute experience introduces visitors to Rembrandt, Hendrickje Stoffels, Titus and Cornelia, combining historical storytelling with theatrical and multimedia techniques. The attraction has also provided Citysaurus with a working environment in which to develop and test new visitor-facing concepts.
This operational perspective is particularly relevant for museums and attractions looking at technology not simply as an installation, but in terms of how it fits into the wider guest journey and commercial operation.

The technology has expanded well beyond Citysaurus' home market in the Netherlands. The company reports installations operating across 14 countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Singapore, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the US.
This international footprint demonstrates how the concept can be adapted for different attraction types, audiences and creative themes while retaining the same underlying visitor interaction.
Prospective operators can also see the technology in use at Citysaurus' showroom at Rembrandts Amsterdam Experience. The Amsterdam attraction provides a particularly fitting setting for the technology, demonstrating how visitors can be transformed into portraits that connect directly with an artistic or cultural experience.
For museums and attractions, personalised souvenirs can serve several purposes: generating ancillary revenue, providing visitors with a tangible memory of their day and encouraging images from the experience to be shared beyond the venue.
Citysaurus brings these elements together using generative AI, with each installation designed around the identity of the attraction rather than presenting the kiosk as a standalone photo booth. The result combines visitor technology, photography and merchandise in a format designed to extend the experience beyond the attraction itself.
