Creating spectacular productions around the world.

Since 1998, CRYSTAL has been a creative force behind some of the world's most spectacular projects and productions. Based in France, the studio specialises in the design and production of live shows, immersive scenography and themed décor. The team's technical expertise and creative vision make CRYSTAL the perfect partner for bringing to life special effects based productions and memorable experiences.
CRYSTAL was founded by Michel Amann, following a successful career as an ice sculptor. He brought together a team of craftspeople and artists specialised in working with water, fire, ice, scenic elements and special effects. Innovation is at the core of CRYSTAL's identity, and the company is always looking for new ways, materials and processes to bring clients visions to life. Research into these areas is carried out within the CRYSTAL LAB, the research and development are of the company that is the origin of their patented multimedia and equipment innovations.
Today, Crystal has projects all over the world and is recognised as both a creative and technical leader in the sector. Their constant ambition is to continue conceptualising and creating ever more dazzling projects.
At Futuroscope and in partnership with Cirque du Soleil, CRYSTAL was tasked with creating mechanical and special effects elements for the nightime spectacular “la Forge aux Étoiles”. MECA, the company's show engineering division, manufactured a giant underwater boom capable of rotating and lifting a large scenic moon element high above the water. In addition to this, the team provided a 20 metre high water curtain, 3 water screens, over 100 animated water jets, 600 mister nozzles, and 20 flame projectors.
As part of Jeff Leatham’s Kaleidoscope at New York Botanical Garden 18th “Orchid Show”, CRYSTAL created a 10 foot high Orchid acting as the centre piece of the exhibition. The sculpture was created in their workshops using a multifaceted mirror surface to reflect the surrounding orchids. A foutain element was also mounted into the sculpture bringing a kinetic element to the installation.
For years, the team have been a partner of Château de Versailles, creating and maintaining numerous fountains across the gardens. At both the Mirror and Neptune pools, CRYSTAL has installed 2 water shows that integrate jets of various sizes, as well as projection and lighting effects.
