Rovio

Rovio Entertainment Corporation is a Finnish mobile-first gaming company, best known for the Angry Birds brand. Having started life as a mobile game in 2009, Rovio has successfully extended the brand from games to various entertainment formats including animated series, feature films, consumer products and location based entertainment. With 96% brand awareness, it is one of the world's most recognized games.

Rovio began moving into the attractions sector with a series of indoor Angry Birds Activity Parks, followed by Angry Birds World in Qatar. This 17,000 square metre (183,000 sq ft) attraction in Doha City has over 20 rides, attractions and activities. It has a presence in several theme parks including Särkänniemi amusement park in Finland, and Merlin Entertainment's Thorpe Park, near London, UK. 

The company has also partnered with Topgolf in LBE to gamify golf by blending physical play with a digital game layer. Players can demolish virtual structures and earn points as they play golf. The game has also been brought to life in Immersive Gamebox. Players can play a life-size version of an Angry Birds game, working in teams of 2-6 players and using slingshots and motion tracking technology to break down the barriers.

In 2020, the company began working with IMG Licensing to give the Angry Birds brand global representation in consumer products and location based entertainment on a larger scale.

Rovio has continued to have engagement in mobile games with over 5 billion game downloads to date with new launches and events supporting the brand’s success, with the latest new mobile game being Angry Birds Journey.

Angry Birds animated series and movies are available in streaming platforms and TV around the globe, with the latest release being the first long form animated series Angry Birds Summer Madness. Angry Birds YouTube channel has also been growing with more than three billion views.
