'Disneyland Game Rush' island to launch in 'Fortnite'

Players will experience "the happiness of Disneyland Resort"

Disney parks are being introduced to the Fortnite universe for the first time ever with Disneyland Game Rush.

Disneyland Game Rush is a limited-time Fortnite Creative island that launches today, 6 November, as part of Disneyland's 70th anniversary celebration.

The virtual installation comes under Disney's $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games, announced in February 2024.

Disney said it would be working with the video game developer and publisher to create a new "games and entertainment universe" connected to Fortnite.

Disney CEO Bob Iger said: “Our exciting new relationship with Epic Games will bring together Disney’s beloved brands and franchises with the hugely popular Fortnite in a transformational new games and entertainment universe."

Via Variety, Disneyland Game Rush will let players experience "the happiness of Disneyland Resort" in Fortnite.

Disney parks in Fortnite for first time

It includes seven mini-games based on attractions at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

Players who complete these mini-games will collect keys and unlock island "exclusive cosmetics" inspired by Disneyland's 70th anniversary.

The mini-games in Disneyland Game Rush are as follows:

  • Star Wars: Stormtrooper Showdown, inspired by the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction at Disneyland
  • Web-Slingers: Spider-Bot Blasters, inspired by Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure
  • Space Mountain: Rocket Race, inspired by the iconic Disneyland roller coaster
  • Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Sneak Out!, based on Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout at Disney California Adventure
  • Haunted Mansion: Scavenger Haunt, themed to the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland
  • Indiana Jones: Tomb Runner, based on the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction at Disneyland
  • Matterhorn: Slip-and-Climb, themed after the Disneyland ride, Matterhorn Bobsleds
