Disneyland has filed permits with the city of Anaheim for a new parking structure as part of its $1.9 billion DisneylandForward project.
The resort in California has filed two building permits for the construction of a 3.2 million-square-foot, eight-level parking structure, the Orange County Register reports.
Work is due to begin this autumn on the new 6,000-space parking structure and transportation hub on the east side of Disneyland, on a portion of land that currently serves as the Manchester cast member parking lot.

The new parking structure will also provide shuttle and rideshare areas, security screening, and dedicated access for traffic off of Disney Way.
The project includes a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard, leading to a new esplanade arrival experience.
The structure and bridge will improve parking and traffic flow throughout the resort area, and will create some of the necessary infrastructure for Disneyland's future growth.
The DisneylandForward expansion plan received final approval from Anaheim City Council in May 2024.
$1.9bn Disneyland expansion plan
Through the multi-decade proposal, the resort will build new attractions, hotels and retail locations on its existing space, like parking areas and unused land.
The plan includes potential experiences based on Frozen, Tangled, Peter Pan, Zootopia, Toy Story, Black Panther, and Tron, as well as an Avatar land, an Encanto experience, and a Coco ride.
"We’re ready to build on decades of innovation, creativity, and storytelling to bring new, exciting experiences for our guests," Disneyland's president Ken Potrock said in a previous statement.
"The possibilities are boundless, and I can’t wait to see what our Disney Imagineers dream up next."
