eatX - THE DARK RIDE DINING ATTRACTION
MACK One
For decades, the leisure industry has treated dining and attractions as parallel tracks. Guests ride, then eat. They queue for a meal, then queue for a ride. The two have never truly occupied the same space - until now.

eatX - THE DARK RIDE DINING ATTRACTION
MACK One
eatX is the world's first Dark Ride Dining Attraction: a fully patented, commercially deployable format in which the meal and the ride are the same experience. Guests board the FlowDiner - an autonomously moving, battery-powered dining vehicle developed and manufactured by MACK Rides - and travel as a group of up to four adults and two young children through a sequence of fully immersive themed environments. As they move, they eat. The story unfolds through projections, set design, lighting, soundscapes, and cuisine simultaneously. Nothing is supplementary. The food is not decoration for the ride, and the ride is not packaging for the food.

eatX - THE DARK RIDE DINING ATTRACTION
MACK One
eatX does not sit within an existing attraction or dining typology. It is a hybrid format that creates its own category at the intersection of ride engineering, immersive storytelling and system gastronomy. This matters commercially because it addresses three pressures that operators across theme parks, resorts, FECs and arenas face simultaneously: limited available space, the demand for high-value guest experiences, and the need to grow revenue per square meter. eatX answers all three in a single footprint - using each square meter twice, as attraction space and as dining revenue space.
The FlowDiner vehicle took two years to develop. It travels at up to 0.5 metres per second, runs on an on-board electric drive, and operates as part of a trackless ride system - meaning the layout and narrative journey can be configured per operator and per IP. This adaptability is the platform's commercial engine: eatX is designed as a white-label concept, localisable for any brand, story or destination context.
The first operator: Karls Erlebnis-Dorf

The proof of concept is already live. Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Elstal, near Berlin Wall open the first eatX installation in summer 2027: the 'Strawberry Dining Journey'. The experience takes guests through five themed worlds across a three-course menu, built around the historically documented discovery of the garden strawberry in 1714. The narrative is grounded in Karls' brand DNA - family, farming, authenticity - and translated into a fully immersive production using projection, set construction, lighting design and choreographed cuisine. The story is the same for every guest; the memory is unique to each table.
Built on proven foundations

MACK One
eatX is not a concept born in a design studio. It emerges directly from operational experience. The MACK Group developed Eatrenalin - the Michelin-starred immersive fine-dining restaurant at Europa-Park Resort - as a prototype for the intersection of dining and storytelling. That real-world learning, combined with MACK Rides' century of engineering expertise and MACK One's role as the group's innovation and experience design engine, gave eatX an unusual starting point: deep technical credibility and demonstrated guest appetite, before the first commercial unit was built.
Why this is innovation for the industry

eatX - THE DARK RIDE DINING ATTRACTION
MACK One
The implications of eatX extend beyond a single attraction. For theme parks, it transforms underperforming or legacy spaces into high-value destinations. For resorts, it turns transitional dining into a central storytelling asset. For operators across formats - malls, FECs, stadia - it introduces a new anchor concept that drives dwell time, per-capita spend and social sharing from a single, compact footprint.
The format is scalable, brand-agnostic and operationally lean. System gastronomy ensures precision, throughput and quality without compromising the guest experience. The trackless vehicle system allows for flexible layout configuration per site. And the white-label model means the IP, the story and the brand identity belong entirely to the operator - eatX provides the engineering and the format.

Dining has always been the gap between two better things. eatX closes that gap permanently.
