One of the world’s leading digital revolutionaries, Seb Chan, Chief Experience Officer at Melbourne’s Australian Centre for the Moving Image, is the star of Culture 24‘s “Let’s Get Real” event at Digital catapult, London.
This rare opportunity allows attendees to hear directly from Seb about the lessons he has learned over the last 18 years working in the museum and heritage sector, specifically about how these have have helped to shape his future stategy.
In the Crit Room, Seb will review and critique the digital output from 3 of the organisations in attendance. He will give his own, bespoke, very personal insight and provide digital guidance in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
The evening will be rounded off with drinks, snacks and networking.
During the masterclass, Seb will share his thoughts about the challenge of transforming the museum experience for the 21st century visitor. He will highlight implementing human-centred design in large and small museums and cultural attractions. As a passionate advocate of the value of museum collections, he detail how his work has always placed collections at the centre of strategies for public engagement. He will emphasise how museums need, now more than ever, to make more use of their assets to assert their public value.

, the Crit Room will review the digital presence of three of the organisations represented in the audience. Seb will offer honest, personalised, problem-solving guidance in a friendly and supportive environment. The idea of this session is to share tips both from Seb’s practical suggestions but also from each other’s experiences. Comments and ideas will also be invited from the floor. Everyone at the event will have the chance to submit their digital output for the Crit Room and this could be your main website, online collections, an exhibition site or a social media channel.
The event concludes with an hour to reflect and discuss what has been learned. This takes place over free-flowing drinks, nibbles and networking with Seb, the Culture24 team and colleagues from across the museum and cultural attractions sector. All this in the spectacular surroundings of London’s Digital Catapult.
