Funlandia, a global provider of indoor play solutions, will highlight the benefits of integrated vertical adventure play at IAAPA Expo Europe 2026.

The event is taking place in London from 21 to 25 September, with the trade show floor open from 22 to 24 September. Attendees can find the company at booth #S5123, where they can discover how complex commercial spaces can become unique, connected and operationally practical visitor experiences.

Vertical complexity as the main attraction

Funlandia’s BE1ST Sports Center project in Shanghai demonstrates how complex height can offer a connected journey that includes climbing, gliding and active play.

BE1ST is a sports-focused family entertainment centre (FEC) brand developed by NEOBIO, one of China’s leading children’s entertainment brands. Its venues merge active play, sports challenges and family entertainment within a single, integrated destination.

At the Shanghai location, a circular dual-track Rope Course, a 360-degree Rail Fly, elevated platforms, trampolines, Rainbow Net, Slides Carnival, and Ninja Courses are combined in a multi-level setting.

Instead of positioning each activity as an independent product, the design links them into a continuous movement journey. Guests climb through the elevated Rope Course, move around the structure on the Rail Fly and view the venue from different heights from various platforms.

A large portion of the activity area is suspended above the floor, with sections of the Rope Course and slide system reaching approximately 11 metres high. As such, the structure, platforms, routes, access points and entrances and exits had to be developed as one system while maintaining usable space below.

The circular, dual-track Rope Course provides multiple route options instead of a fixed sequence. It includes a Rail Fly that loops around the main structure, enhancing speed, offering different viewpoints, and serving as a distinctive high-level feature.

Around this central structure are trampolines, Ninja Courses, nets and slides that encourage different forms of movement and challenge. Together, they create a visual anchor that is more effective than a group of unrelated attractions arranged around the floor.

One structure, multiple experiences

The mix of attractions depends on the building, target audience, operating model, and local requirements. Any integrated concept should therefore start with the site and visitor journey, not an equipment list.

Funlandia’s contribution to BE1ST spanned design, engineering, manufacturing and installation support. The attraction layout and structural arrangement were developed in tandem, with ANSYS simulation supporting part of the structural verification process before delivery.

Funlandia draws from a venue’s conditions to shape the play experience

This coordination is particularly vital in complex vertical projects, where one last-minute change can impact several connected systems. The equipment supplier, client, building team, and local professionals must ensure their responsibilities are clear throughout design, installation, and approval.

This approach to using the venue’s conditions to shape the experience is also evident in Funlandia’s global projects. For example, MaryMaris Indoor Play Park in Lithuania uses layered Net Attractions across the 1,300-square-metre family entertainment environment.

Bounce One in Ergolding, Germany, offers trampolines, Warrior challenges and interactive sports in a multi-experience venue, while Soreal Park in Spain brings together Rope Courses, Climbing Walls, and themed family attractions in one destination.

Although these projects differ in scale and market, they share the aim of making space, movement, attraction mix, and operations work together.

Attendees at IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 are invited to meet with Funlandia at booth #S5123 to discuss indoor playgrounds, trampoline parks, Adventure Play systems and complete FEC planning.

Whether upgrading existing venues or developing new projects, attendees are welcome to share a floor plan, available dimensions, building height or an early project concept for a more specific discussion.

Recently, Funlandia discussed the PlayMaze product at IAAPA Expo Asia in Hong Kong. This dynamic mechanical adventure includes moving pathways, themed settings, and interactive obstacles that react to motion, airflow, light, and visual illusions.
