GoPhoto, a provider of innovative photography services that allow visitors to capture lasting memories of their experience, has made a strategic investment in Socrates Holdings, combining Socrates Imaging’s established ride photography technology with GoPhoto’s AI-powered platform.
The partnership aims to improve guest photo experiences and help attractions earn more from the moments they capture.
GoPhoto has acquired a minority stake in Socrates Imaging. For more than 30 years, Socrates Imaging has developed ride photography systems built to operate reliably in demanding attraction environments.
GoPhoto contributes an AI-powered platform that links photo capture with AI image enhancement, self-service purchasing, and digital delivery.
Together, the companies plan to create a more connected photography offering across the guest journey, from the entrance through the ride.
By combining reliable capture with better products and easier access for guests, they aim to enhance the experience and help attractions generate more revenue from moments they already capture.
Socrates Imaging's systems are installed at more than 200 sites worldwide, including several of the world’s most renowned amusement parks. GoPhoto’s technology is used at more than 175 attractions and visitor experiences around the globe.
New possibilities
Marc Dixon, CEO of Socrates Holdings, says: “In ride photography, everything starts with capturing the moment reliably. That has been Socrates’ focus for more than 30 years. GoPhoto brings new possibilities for what we can do with those images afterwards, from creating better products to making them easier for guests to access.
"We’re excited to build that next chapter together.”
Daniel Duivestein, CEO of GoPhoto, adds: “A great photograph has value only if you capture it consistently and give guests a compelling reason to take it home. Socrates has built an exceptional business around the first part of that challenge.
"By bringing our technologies together, we can help attractions do much more with every image they capture and build a photo operation that is both more engaging for guests and more valuable for the business.”
The companies will first work to integrate ride photography with GoPhoto’s platform, while exploring how AI can improve ride images and support the creation of new souvenir products.
GoPhoto and Socrates will continue operating as separate businesses as they collaborate on technology, product development, and international opportunities.
Last year, GoPhoto also entered into a strategic agreement to acquire Capturelife, a leading provider of digital photo delivery and engagement solutions.
