Guests will join Lara Croft as she explores a mysterious temple

Video game developer Crystal Dynamics has announced a new Tomb Raider-themed immersive experience for Seattle.

An official experience inspired by the video game series and film franchise, ‘Escape from the Temple of Fire’ is the result of a collaboration with Hourglass Attractions, formerly Hourglass Escapes.

The company’s previous escape room-style experiences include ‘Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn’ and ‘Arkham Horror: Mystery at Innsmouth’.

“We felt Seattle made the most sense since we are based here, and it’s a great place,” Seth Wolfson, co-owner of Hourglass Attractions, told the Seattle Times.

“This means we can take a hands-on approach to the making of the experience and make sure the quality in the experience is there. It also means we have a one-of-a-kind attraction in an amazing city.”

During the new Tomb Raider experience, guests will join Lara Croft as she explores a mysterious temple that has emerged from a volcano.

Surrounded by immersive theming, challenging puzzles and live actors, participants will help her to protect a dangerous artefact hidden within the temple’s ancient walls.

“Journey beneath a rumbling Chilean volcano, explore an ancient temple, find clues, and solve puzzles, all while being hunted by Natla Technologies,” says a press release.

“But beware: something even more dangerous than evil scientists might dwell in those forgotten halls — something huge, fiery… and hungry.”

Escape from the Temple of Fire will open in the fourth quarter of this year on Seattle’s waterfront, close to Pike Place Market.

The UK is also home to a Tomb Raider experience, by Little Lion Entertainment and video game companies Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics.
