Jim Shumway joined TAIT in 2013, serving in many roles prior to his current position as VP – Project Delivery. In this role, Shumway focuses on TAIT’s End-to-End projects, bringing together cross-functional and geographically disparate teams to leverage TAIT’s full suite of services for our clients. Focusing on unique solutions for projects of all sizes and markets, Shumway has delivered opening nights for notable clients such as Taylor Swift, Beyonce, The Metropolitan Opera, Universal Studios, and The Walt Disney Company, among many others. Shumway also serves in an Account Management role for some of TAIT’s largest and/or most cutting-edge clients, focusing on ensuring clear communication at the Executive level translates into surpassed expectations for all involved.

Shumway is the author of Automated Performer Flying: The State of the Art, published by Routledge in 2019, recognized as the leading textbook on the topic, and is an annual guest lecturer at Yale’s School of Drama.


Prior to joining TAIT, Shumway worked for organizations such as Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group, constantly focusing on inventive process improvements to benefit the guest experience.
