John Burton is the Senior Creative Lead for Merlin Entertainments ’ Resort Theme Parks division. He oversees the creative development of iconic parks including Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Gardaland, Heide Park, and Warwick Castle.
Most recently, John has led the design and delivery of major attractions such as Nemesis Reborn at Alton Towers and Hyperia, the UK’s tallest roller coaster. His work includes overseeing The World of Jumanji at Chessington, featuring the world’s first Jumanji-themed coaster, Mandrill Mayhem. Other notable projects include The Curse at Alton Manor, The Walking Dead: The Ride, and Colossos: Kampf Der Giganten.
