John Polk

John Polk serves as senior vice president and executive producer at Technifex, a pioneer in themed entertainment creating immersive experiences, iconic features, special effects, and technical show systems for attractions and visitor experiences around the world.

Polk began his career in the lighting and water feature industry before being recruited by Walt Disney Imagineering, where he worked as manager of special effects. He was responsible for integrating the electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, audio, and lighting systems for guest experiences in choreographed show fountains and rides.

Polk has also worked for Aquatic Design and Engineering and The Hettema Group. His projects include Chimelong's Bermuda Storm 5D theatre, Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay, Tokyo DisneySea’s Fantasy Springs, Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan, and The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash at Universal Studios Hollywood.
