Kraftwerk Living Technologies (KLT), a leading-edge AV systems integrator, has announced that MAGNOS, the world’s first sound-transparent passive 3D LED display system, has now formally launched.
The innovative LED technology premiered at Phantasialand in Germany on 1 October and has been named as the winner of the 32nd Annual TEA Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement – Technical Innovation.
This honour will be presented during the 32nd Annual Thea Awards Gala on 2 May 2026 and reinforces MAGNOS' position at the cutting edge of immersive technology.

World’s first passive 3D LED system
MAGNOS combines sound-transparent LED screen design with passive 3D stereo visualisation to surpass the limitations of existing solutions.
Although traditional LED walls in active 3D mode require expensive, delicate shutter glasses and intricate synchronisation, projection-based passive systems fall short in brightness and contrast compared to LEDs and often restrict the integration of sound and effects.
MAGNOS offers the best of both, combining the unparalleled brightness and resolution of LEDs with acoustic transparency and the simplicity of passive 3D.

At its core, MAGNOS features a dual LED display system with acoustically transparent perforations, making it the world’s first passive 3D LED system that seamlessly integrates sound and visuals.
This design permits speakers, lighting, and effects to be positioned directly behind the screen, ensuring smooth audiovisual integration and opening up new creative opportunities with an unmatched sense of realism.
A version with an even finer pixel pitch is currently being developed and is expected to be available in the first half of next year, providing superior clarity and versatility for the most demanding visual settings and applications.
Scalable, cost-effective & easy to maintain
Whether deployed in a theme park attraction, an exhibition space, or a bespoke venue, this innovative technology adapts easily to any setting and across applications of all types and sizes.
These range from media-based attractions to immersive experiences, creative spaces, 4D/5D/XD theatres, mixed reality, museums and exhibitions, dark rides, flat or curved applications, or corporate environments.
Viewing is supported by polarised 3D LED glasses that are accurately aligned with the system. Specially designed by Kraftwerk Living Technologies for extended use, they are lightweight, robust, affordable, and can be used over prescription glasses.

Offering wide viewing angles and requiring no batteries or synchronisation, they allow for large-scale, reliable, and cost-effective 3D operations within group settings and dynamic environments.
The system offers several key benefits, including brighter, sharper visuals with higher contrast than traditional projection systems. It also allows for a seamless, space-efficient integration of sound and effects directly on the screen.
Scalable for audiences and settings of any size, with passive glasses that are both cost-effective and easy to maintain.
Phantasialand debut
The first-ever installation of the MAGNOS system debuted on 1 October 2025, with the opening of “Die 3 Mausketiere” (The 3 Mouseketeers) at Phantasialand's newly refurbished Residenz Theater.
Kraftwerk Living Technologies technically planned, delivered, and integrated the project, which, as the first-ever 3D LED 4D theatre powered by MAGNOS technology, reflects a milestone for immersive entertainment.
Integrated with 248 KLT Armrest SFX Motion Seats, designed specifically for the venue, the attraction offers a completely new level of cinematic immersion and sets a new benchmark for creative and technical standards in themed entertainment.

The project demonstrates the potential of the MAGNOS LED wall in a real-world environment. Installed in a 144 sqm curved layout, the wall surrounds the audience’s field of view, increasing depth and realism.
By combining striking, high-contrast visuals with passive 3D and seamless audio that flows directly through the screen via precision micro-perforation, it offers a fully immersive experience that reimagines audience expectations for next-generation entertainment.
With this distinctive combination of the MAGNOS Passive 3D LED Wall System, acoustic transparency, SFX motion, and supporting technologies, Phantasialand is the first venue in the world to showcase the complete, large-scale, and unique 4D theatre solution.
"We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the client team at Phantasialand, says KLT.
"Especially Mr. Robert Löffelhardt for his visionary guidance, Mrs. Birgit Reckersdrees, and Mr. Sebastian Jonas, along with their entire team, for the excellent collaboration throughout the entire project."
In September, Kraftwerk Living Technologies named Domingo Vergoossen as business development global.
