Engineering movement into the experience

Kinetic engineering has become central to Leva's work. Rather than using technology as the focus of an installation, the team develops mechanical and digital systems that support the wider creative concept.

For Puy du Fou's L'Épée du Roi Arthur in France, Leva created the Kinetic Face, a permanent outdoor installation that transforms into the face of Morgane. More than 200 individually actuated modules work together to produce the movement, controlled through Leva's proprietary motion-control platform.

The project received several international accolades, including a 2025 blooloop Innovation Award in the Spectacular category and a 2026 IF Design Award. Leva's work has also been recognised by the Experience Design Awards, Communication Arts Interactive Competition, International Design Awards, TITAN Innovation Awards and A'Design Awards.

From theme parks to experience centres

Leva's portfolio demonstrates how kinetic and interactive technologies can be adapted to very different environments.

At Aramco's VIP Visitor Centre in Riyadh, the company engineered a 209-square-metre kinetic wall, described as the world's largest. The project required Leva to develop a system capable of precisely coordinating hundreds of moving components as part of a wider interactive visitor environment.

For experience and briefing centres, Leva creates installations that make complex subjects more tangible. Projects have included multimedia physical models, moving displays and sensor-driven exhibits exploring subjects ranging from energy infrastructure to AI-assisted drug discovery. These installations combine physical engineering with digital content, lighting and interaction to encourage visitors to explore information rather than simply view it.

Leva is also developing a permanent kinetic installation for Navi Mumbai International Airport in creative partnership with TMS Studio. Inspired by traditional dances from Maharashtra, the installation translates human movement into a choreographed mechanical experience.

From prototype to permanent installation

Leva's multidisciplinary team works across feasibility, engineering, mechatronics, prototyping, fabrication, assembly, on-site installation and maintenance. The company has increasingly moved from temporary event installations towards complex permanent experiences designed for demanding public environments.

This development will continue with Leva Grid, its new Turin headquarters scheduled to open in October 2026. Designed by Turin-based lamatilde, the 934-square-metre facility will bring engineering, prototyping, production and assembly together while providing space for experimentation, collaboration and events.

After more than a decade of growth, Leva continues to explore how physical movement, technology and engineering can create memorable moments of interaction and surprise.
