Love Kills, a new haunted attraction for Valentine's Day, is coming to Miami next month.

The large-scale scare experience was created specifically for Valentine's Day by The Horrorland Miami, an immersive haunted house.

Running from 12 February until 15 February, the four-night event will take over Miami's Jungle Island.

"Unlike traditional Valentine's events, Love Kills delivers a playful but intense horror experience that encourages guests to laugh, scream and share an adrenaline-filled night together", the website says.

Love Kills is a fully produced immersive experience featuring live actors, story-driven scare zones, cinematic lighting, sound design and special effects.

"Valentine’s entertainment has become predictable," said the creators of The Horrorland Miami.

"We wanted to create something people have never experienced before — a Valentine’s event as intense and immersive as the biggest Halloween horror nights, reimagined for February."

The Horrorland was launched as an innovative drive-through attraction in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Trend for year-round horror experiences

Since then, The Horrorland has got bigger, scarier, and more immersive each year, with Love Kills representing the brand's latest expansion.

Year-round eerie entertainment is a growing trend in the attractions industry as developers and operators attempt to meet growing demand for recreational fear.

Epic Universe at Universal Orlando, for example, includes an entire land for Universal’s classic monsters. Universal is also rolling out permanent horror experiences called Universal Horror Unleashed.

Other theme parks like Efteling, Europa-Park and Paultons Park are updating their classic haunted attractions or adding new ones.
