Michael Acevedo, manager of business development at Nassal, has over two decades of experience in the themed entertainment industry.

This ranges from front-line operations to project leadership, and includes contributions to some of the most ambitious projects in the sector.

He first entered the industry in attractions operations at Universal Orlando Resort, before joining Universal Creative, where he worked on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and the Orlando installation of TRANSFORMERS: The Ride – 3D.

Acevedo then moved to Walt Disney Imagineering, where his portfolio included the Fantasyland expansion, Disney Springs, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

In 2022, he joined Nassal, a leading speciality theming fabricator and programme manager, as senior project manager. In this role, he was responsible for all phases of project development to ensure that each project exceeded client expectations.

Here, here contributed to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic at Universal Epic Universe.

He was then promoted to manager of business development, where he plays a pivotal role in helping clients worldwide transform extraordinary visions into reality. Acevedo concentrates on growth and fostering relationships to build on the company’s legacy of delivering exceptional themed experiences.

“I advocate for support of our industry and the community, and serve as a mentor,” says Acevedo.

“I bring a collaborative and optimistic approach to Nassal and have strengthened our relationships with industry peers and partners.”

In 2024, Acevedo became a charter member of the TEA’s Wellness Council. This seeks to encourage TEA’s standing committees and divisional boards to focus on wellness in their programmes and initiatives through meaningful content, inclusive logistics, and increased awareness.

He holds a masters of science in executive organisational leadership from Colorado State University Global, and a bachelor of business administration (BBA) in project management from Strayer University.
