Alexa Magladry Director, North America Morris Hargreaves McIntyre

Alexa Magladry is director of the North America division at Morris Hargreaves McIntyre (MHM), an international strategy and insight consultancy. Founded in 1999, MHM works with forward-thinking arts and cultural organisations, helping them to clarify their purpose, vision and brand, to raise engagement levels with their programmes, exhibits, and digital content, and to expand their donor and membership bases.

Magladry oversees US client relationships and builds the company’s network. Previously working for Morris Hargreaves McIntyre’s Australasia team, she has experience in leading on insight and strategy projects of various sizes, including a comprehensive annual programme of visitor research at the National Gallery of Australia, and strategic visitor journey mapping and evaluation plans for Hong Kong’s M+ museum.

Magladry has worked in audience-focused roles at the Art Gallery of Western Australia and Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, and most recently supported the American Museum of Natural History’s efforts to grow its international reach. She first joined MHM as a consultant for its Australasia division, where she worked with notable clients like the Sydney Opera House.

“Magladry continues to be driven to provide the insight arts organisations need to thrive,” said one nominator.

“In particular, her work has been guided by a belief in connecting organisations and building community – both across the sector and around the world. As an advocate for shared community she is committed to being a hopeful and positive voice for the museum sector, especially post-pandemic, sharing valuable and practical insight through webinars, articles and conference appearances on visitor research and audience engagement strategy.”

When she returned to MHM as a director, Magladry said: “I’m passionate about engaging much broader audiences, far more deeply, with our clients’ causes. I couldn’t be more excited to return to MHM in this new role with this growing team.”

MHM founder, Andrew McIntyre, said: “Alexa is hugely impressive, a bright light in a new generation of young women arts leaders that are transforming our sector. Our clients will benefit from her strategic insight and unflinching commitment to inclusion and engagement.”
