Robert Rueckel has spent twenty years establishing and operating successful private museums. The founder and director of the immersive history experience Deutschlandmuseum (opened 2023) and managing partner of the German Spy Museum (opened 2015), he started as founding director of Berlin’s DDR Museum in 2005. All of his museums have been nominated for prestigious prizes; they are among the most visited museums in the German capital.
The vice president of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Robert also chairs the tourism committee of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is a member of the supervisory board of DMO Visit Berlin.
