Christie Inspire Series brings various exhibits to life at the China Qiaodu Museum of Overseas Chinese

Christie, the global visual and audio technology company, has announced that its Inspire Series 1DLP laser projectors have been chosen by a number of visitor attractions in China’s southern Guangdong province, enabling the operators to captivate their audiences with vibrant visuals.

More than 80 of the firm’s projectors, including the DWU760-iS, DWU860-iS, and DWU960-iS models, have been installed in Jiangmen City’s China Qiaodu Museum of Overseas Chinese and Jiangmen Local Chronicles Hall, as well as Guangzhou’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Talent Hub.

Christie’s trusted partner Jianye Display supplied and installed these projectors, which include a fixed motorised zoom lens and an IP5X dust-resistant optical engine. They are well-known for their ability to create immersive and unforgettable experiences.

Advanced features enhance the guest experience

“AV technologies, including projections, have been increasingly embraced by visitor attractions in China to bring exhibits to life with dynamic visuals,” says Zhongliang Li, technical director at Jianye Display.

“Projection systems offer a versatile and visually stunning way to tell stories, educate, entertain, and create unforgettable moments for visitors. With advanced features like laser illumination, 24/7 operation, quiet operation, and omnidirectional capabilities, the Christie Inspire Series delivers striking visuals to these prestigious venues in Guangdong province, making it the ideal choice for enhancing visitor engagement and enjoyment.”

The China Qiaodu Museum of Overseas Chinese, which opened in early 2023, vividly depicts the struggles and major contributions of overseas Chinese from Jiangmen. Throughout the museum, nearly two dozen Christie DWU760-iS and DWU860-iS projectors are employed to bring to life a variety of digital exhibits.

Among the engaging installations are projections of the Maritime Silk Road map, enchanting silhouette displays of Chinese emigration, historical portrayals of migration, highlights of overseas Chinese contributions to railway construction, and projections focusing on Chinese language education.

40 Christie DWU760-iS and DWU860-iS laser projectors are also in use in the exhibition areas at the Jiangmen Local Chronicles Hall, providing a comprehensive and systematic showcase of Jiangmen’s history and ongoing development across various aspects such as nature, politics, economy, society, and culture. As the city’s flagship exhibition hall, it offers visitors a comprehensive and well-structured presentation of Jiangmen’s rich past and modern progress.

A panoramic display and colourful projections

Meanwhile, exhibition areas at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Talent Hub are now being powered by over a dozen Christie DWU860-iS and DWU960-iS laser projectors, as well as a Christie 4K7-HS 1DLP laser projector.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Talent Hub is a state-of-the-art facility that acts as a premier talent centre, offering skilled workers in the Greater Bay Area excellent services and one-stop solutions. A 270-degree panoramic display takes visitors to a world where they become a core component of the projected content. Elsewhere, colourful projections on a wide, curved screen immerse them in an expansive lifelike environment.

April Qin, senior director of sales for China, Enterprise, Christie, says: “We are thrilled that visitor attractions in Guangdong province have chosen the Christie Inspire Series for various exhibition zones to enhance the visitor experience. These installations have mesmerized audiences and showcased the many capabilities of this high-value and affordable projector series intended for small-to-mid-size environments.

“The combination of stunning visuals and advanced features has created immersive experiences that leave a lasting impact.”

Last month, Christie also announced that its 1DLP laser projection systems have been installed in a new immersive space at the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum. Here, Christie DWU960ST-iS and DWU630-GS laser projectors are delivering a projection display on four surfaces of the museum’s new ‘video room’.
