Endurescreens to debut new version of Micro Pro-Screen at Planetarium Schwaz

News
Endurescreens Micro Pro Screen

Endurescreens, a specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of world-class projection screens, will bring its Micro Pro-Screen to a planetarium in Europe. This product, as well as the Pro+ product, now features the company’s next-generation screen surface, announced last month.

The project, which is at Planetarium Schwaz in the Tirol region of Austria, will see the first installation of the Micro Pro-Screen in Europe. It is also Endurescreens’ first planetarium renovation project. The new screen will replace the existing planetarium screen surface and can be easily attached to the existing screen base structure.

Work will commence at the beginning of 2023 and it will open the doors to the public before the summer.

An exciting project

“We have chosen Endurescreens as our screen supplier because of their outstanding quality, first class service at a most reasonable price,” says Axel Krieger, executive partner of the Planetarium Schwaz. “In addition, with their new product, they will set the benchmark in our industry.

“We inspected some of their other projects in Europe, and we were impressed by their performance, and how they are taking care of the details. I wasn’t sure about the Micro Pro – Screen Panel at the beginning, as nobody is currently using it in Europe. But as soon as they visited us in Schwaz and showed me the comparison between the Micro Pro – Screen Panel and the regular panel, I immediately decided that we had to have it for our new rebuilt Planetarium.”

Lei Yin, director of global sales and business development at Endurescreens, adds:

“This is such an exciting project for us. This is a perfect showcase for our world-leading products and services.”

Higher brightness and resolution

The specifications of the Micro Pro-Screen panel are as follows:

  • Hole diameter nominal 0.8 mm
  • Nominal hole axis to axis 1.8 mm
  • Nominal void 16%

The product offers higher image brightness, with the smallest perforation in the industry. These smaller holes increase the amount of projected light reflected towards the audience, meaning that the image is brighter compared to the standard perforated panels with the same projection system.

The Micro Pro-Screen also provides higher resolution. Thanks to the smaller perforation, it is possible to have a higher-resolution image with smaller pixels, without losing an entire pixel into a perforated hole as is the case with the standard panels. Plus it offers a shorter viewing distance and better image quality. With the company’s signature seamless joints, custom mini rivets and smaller perforation, the screen brings content closer to the audience.

There is no difference in maintenance between this new model and the company’s previous product.

Endurescreens also recently secured three new contracts for flying theatre installations in the US.
