Meow Wolf, an art collective in Santa Fe, New Mexico, have announced plans for an interactive exhibit and music venue in downtown Denver.

Meow Wolf will build a kaleidoscopic walk and crawl-through exhibit for all ages in a new five storey building spanning an area larger than a football field.

The building is on a 20-year lease in partnership with Denver-based commercial real estate developer Revesco Properties.

The project is set for completion by early 2020 at an estimated cost of $30 million.

The company plans to seek additional investors later this year. The offering could involve equity in the company or debt obligations or both.

“This delightfully challenging site and our very strange building program are conspiring to produce a most unusual building and an incredibly unique experience,” Anthony Guida, design director for Meow Wolf, told KDVR. “We’re thrilled to design this dynamic addition to central Denver, which will activate both the area below and above the viaducts and draw visitors throughout the whole year.”

In Santa Fe, the company used psychedelic design and original narratives to create a brand new type of attraction that defied expectations by attracting more than 400,000 guests in its first year of operation.

CEO Vince Kadlubek said of his Santa Fe exhibition in May 2017: “it is totally original.  The story is original.  The type of experience that people have is original.  There is nobody who is doing what we do in the way that we are doing it.  There are museums, children’s museums, and there are themed rides at Disneyland.  But nobody else is just letting people explore, and I think that is critical.”

Tickets will go on sale beginning Thursday. There are 20,000 general admission tickets for opening week at $50; 1,000 tickets to a private gala event on the opening night at $1,000; and 100 lifetime passes that include two tickets to any Meow Wolf space, event and concert in the world for the rest of your life for $10,000.
