Museum of Illusions now has more than 45 locations across 25 countries

Museum of Illusions has announced plans to launch more than 18 new museums around the world this year after debuting 11 new sites in 2023.

The world’s largest chain of private museums started 2024 with more than 45 venues across 25 countries following a year of exponential growth.

The company is mostly focusing on expanding in the US. In 2023, it opened four corporate locations in the US – in Minneapolis, Atlanta, Denver and its flagship museum on the Las Vegas Strip.

It also opened seven new sites across the globe – four in the US (Austin, Houston, Scottsdale and Pittsburgh), another venue in Montreal, Canada, and two in France (Marseille and Bordeaux).

“Museum of Illusions has been on a positive growth trajectory since its inception in 2015 and has shown no sign of slowing down. 2023 was a remarkable year for the brand from opening our 15,000-square-foot flagship location in Las Vegas with celebrity partners to surpassing internal visitor records worldwide and museum openings,” said Jonathan Benjamin, CEO of Museum of Illusions.

“Looking ahead, we will continue to innovate and expand our capabilities to continue providing memorable experiences for our visitors for years to come.”

Museum of Illusions’ global expansion

With its new sites for 2024, Museum of Illusions will continue to focus on the US, as well as Europe and Africa.

“What started as a fun, entrepreneurial idea exploded in a very short period of time,” Benjamin told blooloop in 2022.

On the group’s expansion plans, he added: “We will invariably look for areas that are city centres where there is a lot of activity and a range of other types of entertainment facilities.”

“It has to be somewhere likely to appeal to people as a destination for tourists, and for people outside the area, somewhere with conventions, hotels, and shopping.”
