Guests at the John Deere Historic Site, the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum and the John Deere Pavilion can now enjoy a new mobile app, designed to improve their experience of the attractions before, during, and after their visit.
As well as helping guests prepare for their visit and supporting a self-guided experience, the app enables the operator to continue engaging with them after their trip. It also allows people to interact and experience the world of John Deere even when they cannot visit the sites. The app provides behind-the-scenes access and AR interactions that would not be possible in person.
A new way to experience John Deere’s history & heritage
People interact with attractions in different ways, so the operator wanted to offer a way to expand its on-site experiences. Thanks to the addition of the new app, visitors can now opt for a self-guided audio tour of the John Deere Historic Site and John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum. There is also a John Deere Pavilion scavenger hunt for younger visitors, as well as featured treasures from the vaults of the John Deere Archives.
Guests can use the app to listen to important voices from John Deere’s history and to learn about John Deere’s vision for the future.
In addition, new AR experiences have been added to supplement the self-guided tours. These use technology to bring John Deere’s past and present to life in a different way while allowing visitors to feel part of the story.
“We are excited for our visitors to experience John Deere like never before,” says Neil Dahlstrom, branded properties and heritage manager. “From audio tours and scavenger hunts to augmented reality and virtual trips through the company archives, we look forward to connecting in new and exciting ways.”
The John Deere Pavilion features new and vintage equipment as well as interactive and immersive exhibits. Meanwhile, the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum explores the evolution from horse-drawn to horsepower through classic machinery and interactive displays, and the John Deere Historic Site welcomes visitors to John Deere’s homestead, featuring his original blacksmith shop.
