Company builds on acquisition by Vox Group to create new digital solution for attractions

Sycomore, a creator of multilingual, multimedia and audio experiences enhanced by intuitive digital and hardware solutions, has announced the opening of a new UK office. This follows its 2019 acquisition by Vox Group, a global leader for guiding solutions in tourism and culture.

The new UK office is headed by Sycomore’s head of creative for the UK & Ireland, Fiona Houston, and Caroline Checkley-Scott, UK commercial director. While the office is new, neither Houston nor Checkley-Scott are new to the industry. With their years of listening to and understanding the changing needs of the sector, they bring a wealth of experience to the new Sycomore UK brand.

With this new chapter and thanks to its connection with Vox Group, Sycomore is uniquely placed to offer a bespoke set of solutions, including Connect by Sycomore. This is a complete solution for attractions, allowing them to manage both venue operations and the visitor experience, from content and guiding to ticketing and delivery.

Connect by Sycomore

Sycomore is a leading provider of museum digital guides and digital content services, creating unforgettable guest experiences with museums and cultural organizations for more than 35 years. From classic audio guides to cutting edge digital solutions; multimedia smart devices and ticketing software; the company is able to deliver turnkey innovative solutions for a range of projects.

Bringing together the experience and skills of Sycomore with the technology and scale of Vox Group means that it can offer the same quality of product and service to small and medium venues that might have previously been out of reach, due to factors such as cost, internal resources or technology shortfall.

The result is Connect. This full digital solution makes managing operations easy and provides more opportunities for making attractions visible and bookable, as well as improving the visitor experience. This in turn can boost revenue and attract new audiences.

“We are so excited to finally make an entrance into the UK Cultural and Heritage sector. For more than 20 years, Vox has empowered tourist attractions around the world to guide and entertain millions of visitors,” says Elio Epifani, Vox Group president.

“Now, with our partnership with the incredible Sycomore, with their 30+ years of creating fantastic audio-led experiences in the European cultural sector, we are so proud of our Connect offering and the number of attractions and institutions that will now benefit from all of our passion, experience and expertise.”

With human-centred storytelling and design at the heart of everything that it does, Sycomore’s expert team is ready to work with clients to bring their vision to life, no matter the size of the project.
