Ahead of the launch of its new Viking-themed land, Paultons Park in Hampshire, England has shared new images of the attraction.

Valgard – Realm of the Vikings, Paultons Park's largest themed world to date, will open to the public on 16 May.

The £12 million land will feature Drakon – the theme park's first inverting coaster, with a vertical lift hill and two upside-down twists.

Additionally, Valgard will include Raven, a rebranded version of Paultons Park's Cobra coaster.

Another attraction in Valgard is the Vild Swing by ART Engineering, an amusement ride manufacturer that develops roller coasters, dark rides, carousels, water rides and more.

To enhance the Valgard experience, the land will offer the Feasting Hall restaurant and a new playground for younger guests.

James Mancey, deputy managing director at Paultons Park, previously said Valgard will be "an immersive, atmospheric, and action-packed experience for families".

Valgard, he added, has been "specifically designed to grow with our fans". For example, Paultons Park plans to introduce a water experience to Valgard in 2027.

Last year, Paultons Park revealed its first on-site accommodation, a Scandinavian-inspired resort, as part of its evolution into an overnight destination.

Opened in 1983, Paultons Park is a family-run theme park covering 140 acres. It is home to more than 80 rides and attractions, and features the UK’s only Peppa Pig World.

Its newest attraction is the Ghostly Manor interactive dark ride, housed in the park's former 4D cinema building.
