New innovation updates popular game with tracking and immersive technology

CONDUCTR, a new UK-based innovation studio, has announced the launch of Electric Carrom, a patent-pending reinvention of a popular game from South Asia. The company has brought the game, which is a mix of shuffleboard and snooker, up-to-date for a modern audience, through the use of state-of-the-art tracking and immersive technology.

With this technology, the firm has been able to add features such as automated scoring, as well as new game variants and training modes. As a result, the engaging new game is ideal for a range of venues.

New social gaming concept

“The Social Gaming market is growing exponentially, and the most popular venues feature classic sports and games which have been transformed using technology, such as golf and darts,” says CONDUCTR CEO, Peter Cliff.

“This is often leveraged to simplify gameplay, unlock social sharing and ultimately make the experience much more fun. We fell in love with this classic game and recognised the huge potential it has in the Middle Eastern region.”

In addition to this, the company has also developed CarromSTRIKE, which is a simplified and highly competitive variation, designed specifically for high turnover venues.

Electric Carrom and CarromSRIKE form part of GameVolt, Conductr’s catalogue of technologically-enhanced social games. The company will be demonstrating its portfolio at the Saudi Entertainment & Amusement (SEA) Expo 2022 from 16 – 18 May, where the team can be found at the ExperienceUK pavilion, Stand 4C21.

CONDUCTR is a new venture launched by Peter Cliff and Jos van der Steen, both formerly from experience design specialist Holovis. This new company will bring together a group of skilled designers, artists, engineers and developers, with the aim of creating new immersive experiences. Its goal is to transform physical environments with real-time evolving narratives, using cutting-edge technology. The new company will be based in Manchester, UK.
