KristallTurm, a quality provider of high ropes courses and other play equipment, has shared details of an array of new projects in Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Romania and Shanghai, and the installation of its first Playletter for Bavaria Filmstadt in Munich, Germany.
The Playletter is the latest product to join the firm’s portfolio, which also features KristallTurm’s signature hexagonal climbing towers, as well as a varied range of products from the sports and play sector, including unique playgrounds, adventure and ninja courses.
The firm will be exhibiting at IAAPA Expo Europe 2024. Delegates at the event in Amsterdam can find KristallTurm at booth #10107.
Playletter debut
KristallTurm’s inaugural Playletter launched at Bavaria Filmstadt earlier this month.
“There are many great landmarks, but few are as playfully memorable as that of the Bavaria Filmstadt in Munich, Germany,” says a spokesperson from the firm.
The facility’s entrance area now features a huge turquoise “B”, the first letter of Bavaria Filmstadt. The striking installation reaches more than eight meters high and contains a play area that offers numerous ways to explore, climb, play and discover. The XXL design features angled chambers, beams, big and little hatches, ramps, and much more, with four large and several small Plexiglas windows offering views of the outside, as well as two exits – one of which is via a stainless steel slide.
The Playletter is built of multiplex wood panels, with a sturdy spruce base. A special coating protects the outside from water and UV rays.
“The Bavaria Filmstudios Playletter is the first of its kind from KristallTurm and expands the company’s sports and play range,” says the firm. “With the Playletter, KristallTurm offers companies, organizations and leisure facilities an opportunity to present themselves in an extraordinary way – a landmark that focuses not only on the visual appearance, but above all on the experience itself. In addition, the Playletter can be used to expand existing offers and thus appeal to and inspire new target groups.
“Children and adults should have a good time here that will be remembered for a long time.”
International installations
In 2024, KristallTurm has been working on numerous projects around the world.
In July, the company announced the opening of a unique high ropes course in Mie, Japan. This installation combines two high ropes courses, one with 18 poles, and one with seven, and spans approximately 1,200 square metres.
The towers are connected by three suspension bridges which reach over 30 metres long, one tower offers 90 climbing stations, and the other offers 36 across their three levels. At around 17 metres high, and with one tower located on a slight hill, the attraction provides a spectacular view across the surrounding countryside.
This installation also includes the plank walk, where climbers balance on a narrow steel beam that leads away from the climbing tower as they attempt to reach the end and ring the bell.
Earlier this year, a 7-poles KristallTurm opened at the HugHug leisure facility in Tokyo. The KT-7 features three levels and 36 climbing stations and offers climbing experiences for people of all ages. The children’s course is positioned next to the climbing tower, rather than under its first level, and includes eleven masts, 32 stations, and two mini-ziplines which exit the climbing routes.
Meanwhile, at Children’s Palace in Shanghai, construction is underway for a new 6-poles KristallTurm across three levels. The current net course will be expanded with 27 climbing elements and a children’s course below the first level, providing room for up to 35 people to climb simultaneously. Its orange-red paint on the steel masts adds an eye-catching feature.
A 7-poles KristallTurm is also being installed at Pingtung University in Taiwan. This climbing facility offers 36 stations across three levels and is set to be constructed in November.
In addition, an 18-poles KristallTurm, the KT-18, will be installed this year in Gwangju, Korea. It will include 90 climbing stations on three levels, with an Observation Deck where external visitors can enjoy the view without interrupting climbers.
KristallTurm recently attended IAAPA Expo Asia 2024. This was the firm’s 11th year at the event.
