Lane7, a boutique bowling experience company, has announced plans to open its first overseas site after launching its largest UK venue.
The latest Lane7 location opened earlier this month in Birmingham’s Bullring with 14 lanes of bowling, dart boards, beer pong, floor shuffle and karaoke booths, as well as two mini curling rinks and 35 retro gaming machines.
Lane7 is also planning to open its first venue in London in December with three floors of space. This will be followed by the first overseas site in Dublin, Ireland in 2024.
“We’ve created and curated a new fanbase of baller fans who also love the additional and unique attractions we bring to each new site,” said Lane7 owner and founder Tim Wilks.

“The plans for London are perfect for its setting in the heart of Victoria, including a new adult-only gaming attraction. That’s Victoria’s secret for now… just watch this space.”
Lane7 now has attractions in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham (The Cube), Birmingham (The Bullring), Liverpool, Bath, Bristol, Durham, Leicester and Newcastle.
“It’s going to be a huge year for the business, with our growth plans in the next 12 months affirming our commitment to providing top-tier entertainment in vibrant, urban settings,” Wilks added.
New appointments at Lane7
In addition to its expansion plans, Lane7 has appointed the former financial director at Merlin Entertainments, David Bence, as its new chief financial officer. Former Everyman Cinema operations director Gavin Hughes has been named as Lane7’s managing director.
“We are already seeing the organisation and efficiency that comes with appointments like Gavin and David, meaning we can grow our brands with new confidence,” said Wilks.
Earlier this year, Wilks announced plans for an “aggressive European offensive”. He added: “We dream big and then deliver. It’s what we do.”
