Loro Parque Zoo Pygmy Hippopotamus

Considered one of nature’s great mammals, originally from Africa, the 2 pygmy hippopotamuses in Loro Parque (Choeropsis liberiensis) are characterized by their small size, measuring between 75 and 83 centimeters high, 150-177 centimeters long and weighting from 180 to 275 kilos. It is estimated that there are less than 3,000 specimens in the wild and it is considered an endangered species. You can discover them in Tenerife, Loro Parque Zoo!
