For its presentation to the International Olympic Committee, NYC2012 returned to the Queens Museum of Art's panorama of the five boroughs of New York City. Animated electroluminescent wire was used to illustrate transportation routes, and kiosks for each venue were internally illuminated with LED fixtures, to allow for focus and flexibility in color and intensity. The famous map was lit using both the existing lighting system and an added theatrical lighting package consisting of conventional and moving units. The automated lights created color, movement, texture, and graphic images that supported the NYC2012’s printed materials. Luce Group's lighting added to a dramatic and memorable morning for the members of the Evaluation Commission.
