In 2015 we completed theming and fit out work on ZAAP Thai Nottingham, the second in a growing chain of uniquely themed, street food style Thai restaurants aiming to replicate a stylish Thai street scene as a backdrop to authentic cuisine.
Paragon Creative was approached to create a highly detailed themed train front intended to act as a unique feature to the new restaurant in the centre of Nottingham. The design is based on the passenger and freight trains that pass through the markets in Bangkok that are set up literally on the tracks. The train is intended to act as a unique feature to the restaurant, which is sure to be a talking point among visitors to the restaurant.
Paragon created the main structure of the train front in timber before being scenically treated to create a highly realistic metallic finish. Additional detail was added to make the lights and windscreen wipers flash and move. The train was also constructed so that visitors will be able to climb on board creating a fun photo opportunity. Paragon Creative was also responsible for additional theming and fit-out within the restaurant to re-create the surrounding ‘market’ environment as well as a stylish backdrop behind the train.
The train had an incredibly quick turn around, being built and installed in under six weeks and now sits proudly as a fantastic addition to this quirky and fun restaurant that is sure to be a talking point among patrons. We continue to work with ZAAP Thai theming several of their other restaurants.
