Digital Projection, a specialist in laser projectors, has welcomed pro-AV veteran James Belso as regional sales manager for the UK and Ireland. This is the firm’s latest move in an extensive recruitment programme centred on expansion in the EMEA region. Belso will be responsible for further developing Digital Projection’s business through a select network of new and existing partners.
Belso will report to Matt Horwood, EMEA director of sales at Digital Projection. He will work to discover and meet the market’s need for cutting-edge display technology across a variety of applications, while also making sure that clients receive the smooth experience and local assistance they have come to expect from Digital Projection.
By exploiting his client network and vast industry experience, Belso will collaborate closely with Simon Hutchinson of Digital Projection in the UK to further increase the fast-growing brand recognition of the UK manufacturer in the region.
Belso brings more than 22 years of experience to the role
Belso has over 22 years of experience and is a seasoned pro-AV professional. He effectively established a new hardware sales side of the firm in his most recent role as commercial director at UK distributor Visualization Ltd, demonstrating his capacity to drive demand and growth:
“My extensive experience in the pro-AV industry, particularly with projection, will be a major asset in my new role at Digital Projection,” he says. “I am excited to join such an innovative company, from pioneering technology like Satellite MLS (Modular Laser System) to delivering great pre- and post-sales customer support from their UK headquarters.
“I was particularly drawn to the company because of its ability to push the boundaries of development, delivering cutting-edge products and solutions that are always at the forefront of the industry.”
Adding significant value
Belso was also drawn by the firm’s stellar reputation in the industry:
“The company strikes the perfect balance between being big enough to compete with all the other top brands, whilst managing to remain true to their values of customer care, providing support and attention every step of the way.”
His industry background includes several senior sales roles at major display manufacturers, as he explains: “Having worked with vendors, distributors, and system integrators, I have developed a deep understanding of the industry’s needs and challenges, and I look forward to leveraging this knowledge to help drive growth and innovation at Digital Projection.
“Digital Projection is a great cultural fit for me. I am inspired by its human approach and commitment to the industry and I am looking forward to contributing towards the company’s continued success with the team.”
Horwood adds: “We are thrilled to welcome James to our team. His appointment will bring significant value to our company and our customers. What sets James apart is his alignment with both our company’s and customer’s values. We pride ourselves on fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence and James shares these values wholeheartedly. We are truly excited to have him on board.”
Recently, the company’s projection technology was chosen by French event and content creation agency e’motion and technical service provider ETC (Entertainment Technology Center) to support a major new exhibition at the Palace of Versailles.
